The Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program is federally funded and able to assist if you are needing help paying your rent and utilities (electricity, gas, water and sewer, trash removal, and energy costs). You can even get assistance with missed payments dated back to March 2020 (or up to 12 months of back rent). Financial help is also available for up to THREE MONTHS of future payments at a time! In order to qualify, you must:
Be a renter,
Be eligible for unemployment or received a reduction in household income, experienced significant costs or hardship due to COVID-19,
Demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability
AND
Maintain a household income at or below 80% of the area’s median income.
For 1 Person that means making less than $46,000 per year
For a family of 4 People, that means making less than $65,700 per year
