Happy New Year! We cannot believe another year has come and gone so quickly. We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to all that is to come! Oysters on the Point: 01/08
If you are a fan of “Party on the Point” at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina in the Summer months, then this event might be right up your alley! This once a month event during the Winter months will feature live music, local vendors, bonfires, and of course steamed oysters!
Monster Jam: 01/08-01/09
This family friendly motorsport competition at the North Charleston Coliseum will have world class athletes who drive 12,000-pound trucks around a course where they tear up dirt and perform tricks!
Oyster Roast at Bowen’s Island: 01/09
Another event featuring oysters! This one helps aid in the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse and includes oysters, beer, wine, hot dogs, chili, desserts, and music by the Shakin’ Martinis at Bowen’s Island Restaurant on Folly Beach.
Charleston Restaurant Week: 01/13-01/23
The first of two Restaurant Weeks in Charleston! This event features a variety of participating restaurants that offer a special menu for a fixed price. It is an excellent way to try new restaurants around the area that you may not have before!
Stingrays Hockey Game: 01/14-01/15
Come out to the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center to support our local hockey team! Both Friday and Saturday nights they are playing against the Norfolk Admirals.
Taste of Folly: 01/14-01/15
The cocktail competition will kick off this event on Friday at the Tides Hotel and will feature bartenders battling it out with their best creations! The event continues into Saturday where Center Street will be closed for local restaurants to prepare their best dishes and show off their skills! The event will also feature various competitions such as; Hot Dog Eating, Oyster Shucking, and the Server Olympics! Attendees will find local bands, various vendors, arts and crafts, and a kids section! There is sure to be something for everyone!
Love All Dogs Adoption Event: 01/15
This free event is perfect for all animal lovers! Come by the James Island County Park to meet all the adoptable dogs and cats! There will be live music, local food vendors, and pet vendors.
Charleston Marathon: 01/15
The 12th annual race through Charleston where you can celebrate finishing with nothing other than Shrimp and Grits, yum! There will be a variety of races you can participate in, so there is something for everyone!
Saltwater Sounds: 01/15
This event is an educational musical performance by the Charleston Symphony at the South Carolina Aquarium. Attendees will enjoy beautiful music in front of the Aquarium’s largest exhibit, the Great Ocean Tank!
Martin Luther King Holiday Parade: 01/17
Celebrate Martin Luther King and all his great achievements with the annual MLK Day parade through downtown Charleston.
The Knights With Aaron Diehl, Piano: 01/23
A night featuring Aaron Diehl exploring genres between jazz, classicism, and European modernism at the Charleston Gaillard Center.
Charleston Boat Show: 01/28-01/30
Located at the Charleston Convention Center, this annual event has all things for boat lovers as it kicks off boating season. The event includes everything from powerboats to small jon boats, skiffs, cruisers, pontoons, yachts and ski boats. There is something for everyone’s taste and budget. Many vendors also offer “event specials,” deals you can only find at the boat show!
Charleston Kennel Club Dog Show: 01/29-01/30
This annual event is an all-breed dog show hosted by the Charleston Kennel Club.
Charleston Winter Wine Festival: 01/29
Come enjoy over 50+ wines, beer, and music at Charleston’s Festival Hall and make sure to take your keepsake glass home with you!
